Seen And Heard

The book of Acts is the only eye-witness, original source of what happened in the early church. This is the primary source of what the essence of Christianity is. We have seen the first message, first church gathering, and now we are going to see the first persecution.

What we see in this persecution is what Jesus said in John 15. (read) This is a very frightening and important passage; what we are reading and learning here is that unbelief and opposition to the gospel is not a simple thing, it’s a complex thing. Its not a lack of something its the presence of something else. Its not just a lack of persuasion its a spirit of deep hostility. This isn't a message to make believers better at convincing unbelievers, it's a message of urgency and a commitment to make Jesus center as we engage our neighborhoods, cities and the world.
