Is There No One Who Can Do Anything For Me?

How is it that we come to understand what is "good?"  More importantly, why is it that we can so clearly see that we don't measure up to our own standards of goodness in how we live?  Humanity has wrestled with this for millennia and it continues to occupy a lot of our thoughts and energy.  In a very authentic piece of writing, Saint Paul discloses his own struggles in this area and then sums up his frustration in the question, "Is there no one who can do anything for me?"

Thankfully, Paul doesn't just leave us with the question but walks us through to the answer.  In that answer, we find both hope and help to live life on God's terms.  And that's a life of incredible personal freedom that benefits us and those who are privileged to live around us.
