Which Of These...
Essentially, the center of this sermon (and passage) is loving God and our neighbors in and through Jesus at the center. More descriptively, my general organization and movement of the sermon is to set-up the context and then ask “Which of these...” characters in the passage do we look most like, i.e. The Priest and Levite, the Good Samaritan and/or...the Man? The central teaching of this passage is that, individually and corporately, we most resemble that Man laying by the side of the road and it is Jesus who is the Good Samaritan, and on the basis of “being loved, healed, saved, etc.” we as individuals and corporately (as the Church) may participate with Jesus in “loving, healing, saving, etc.” others.
