Aliens And Strangers

One of the most amazing answers the writer gives is in this text. In this passage we are told, when you embrace the living God by faith into your life comes a transforming power and a deep tension, if you try to resolve it, you’ll lost that transforming power. What does that mean?

v.13 “aliens and strangers on the earth.” The word alien means, “resident aliens.” On the one hand these are not visitors and yet they are not citizens of where they are living. That is the tension one must live with to understand and live under the transforming power of God. Much of the power of change comes with the tension. If you try to resolve it one direction or another it will be spiritual disaster.

Let’s break this down into what we are going to do this morning. We are going to learn, two cities, the cities are in conflict, one is for the others, how to become citizens of THE city.
