Why Do We Have To Wait?

This week we are looking at a passage that may not seem very Christmas-ish. In all actuality, it has massive Christmas implications for us though. Another angle to the Christmas story is that it points back to the promise that has already been fulfilled (the birth of the Jesus) and it points ahead to promises that have yet to be fulfilled (Jesus coming back). Christmas is about Jesus coming back again to wipe all of our tears and end all wars and fulfill his promises of peace and hope.

The tough part for us is, when is he coming back? When are we going to be able to stop fighting and get to peace? Why does Jesus take so long? A way to look at this is when we were kids and we had to wait to open presents, that was so hard to do! We wanted the joy now! We are going to take a look at how Christmas tells us that Jesus is a man that will not be rushed.
