Doing The Write Thing
I got the inspiration for this message while recently visiting Manchester, UK and saw a painting called, "The Good Samaritan" by George Frederick Watts. There is an incredible story of how Watts dedicated this painting to a person named Thomas Wright. This painting has a great story to it as it hung in the Manchester city hall as a symbol of one's love for their neighbors. The word "neighbor" has many connotations. In this well known story, I will explore the idea of how religion reorients how we define that word, specifically as it relates to our political, ethnic, and social perceptions. Moreover, it is not just a reorientation of a word, but ultimately a reorientation of the heart. I will look at how grace can come from the unlikeliest of sources and ultimately from the source himself, Jesus.
Luke 10:25-37
